Adoration

For Courtney Ann.

A million poems I could weave, and then a million more, about the joy and light you bring to me, sweet wife whom I adore.

You set my feet to dancing, and my heart to racing too, and I know this world would be much darker, if I couldn’t pass through it with you.

The Emergency

Young man frantically knocks on his neighbor’s door

says: “My phone is dead, may I use yours?,

I’ve got an emergency call that I need to make”

Neighbor says “Sure, right this way”

As the neighbor hears the call, his heart starts to break

The young man says: “get someone here, without delay, my wife’s not okay,

and we’ve got a baby on the way!”

Dispatcher says:

“Sir, I’m sending someone now

best thing you can do is to calm down,

you’re doing nobody good freaking out that way,

but I promise you, okay,

We’ll do our best to take care of her & the baby

I Don’t Need Much (Alt: That’s Enough)

She was married in a small town,

all her friends around,

at the reception she was laughing,

dancing til they shut it down

Her wedding was beautiful,

even though, it was nothing fancy

She told her husband:

“Oh I don’t need much

as long as we have faith & I’ve got your love,

that’s enough”
