Danny

Danny’s been on the road for a week, he stops off at a truck stop to park for a night & speak to his young son on a video chat & tell him where he’s been and where he’s at.

His son says excitedly:

“Daddy, Daddy, when are you coming home again”? Danny says, “I’ll be there soon, buddy. Give your mama a hug for me, & smile, it’s just a few more miles. They’ll go by fast, you’ll see.”

Ten Past Three

He was standing at that airport gate

She was coming home, but the plane was late

It was supposed to be in

at ten past three

He wondered “Why the delay, where could it be?”

Turns out they’d made a stop, down in Birmingham

It wasn’t scheduled, wasn’t planned

A mechanical problem forced them to land

Took them an hour to get airborne again

If It Doesn’t Snow

They were both born & raised down on the Gulf coast

They’ve still got some good friends there,

there are a few they miss the most,

They’ve been living up north now, for six years in a row

They both agree it’s been too long

since they made it back down home

but they’ll be going back @ Christmas time

If it doesn’t snow
