Eric’s a genius, a maverick,
an old troubadour
With a voice & music so soothing,
like gentle waves upon a shore

Sharon was a Texas beauty queen
With dreams of acting on stage & screen
She proved she could do it,
that she had the grit that was needed
& a fiery spirit that couldn’t be defeated
She brought her unique spark(le) to every role
Embraced them w/all her heart & soul

Voices roaring up in outdoor stadium stands
People waving lighters they hold in their hands
Not for someone world famous, man
All the fire & fervor is for a great home town band
Truly known & loved by all of their fans

There is a man named Darrell, he can pick any tune
The man has a gift, I’m telling you
I can’t even count how many times I’ve heard him play
but every time I do, his brilliance still takes my breath away

Oh Rosie, thank you for the poetry
You’re as brilliant as your daddy
Anyone can see, & that’s saying something
Something indeed, because he was legendary
Is it something in your DNA, was your genius taught
or were you born that way?

I Love listening to Ray
I’ll jam to him til my dying day
That’s one piano man that really could play
It was always amazing to me
That even though he couldn’t see,
somehow he never hit a sour key

Some people can string together a thousand words
of the most beautiful poetry ever heard
but what matters the most to me,
is do they write from the heart
With sincerity?

John had always dreamed of Broadway,
and a life upon the stage
but life took some twists & turns
that he did not anticipate
Now he’s a banker down in Georgia,
some would say he’s got it made
Still, he thinks back, as he’s approaching middle age
He’s wondering if he should try one more time
to pursue that dream that just won’t fade

Randy had a golden voice that the whole world came to know
I always loved to hear it come on the radio
When he sang a song it was about both
the heartfelt message & the show
Though his voice was robbed from him,
by a stroke a few years ago
He’s fighting tooth & nail to recover,
even though progress is slow

There’s a country blues man named Justin I heard today,
the way he plays guitar blew me away
It was not just the sound, though that was more than okay,
By far the most awesome thing
was watching as he made his fingers
dance all over the strings
He’s not a man looking for fortune or fame
but his talent puts many famed players to shame
