“I’d Do It All Over Again”

A kid packed his bags heavy,

threw them in his Chevy truck

Headed down to Texas,

where people had said he should try his luck

He spent his first months in Fort Worth,

staying w/a good friend of his,

Working days as a dishwasher

& spending his nights

playing gigs,

Being a musician it was a tough row to hoe

but even so, he was glad he made a go of it,

Years later when he’d succeeded,

He said “I’ve got to admit,

If I had to go back, I’d do it all over again”

Singing A Different Tune

This is the story of a man,

whose body has betrayed him

He’s been living on a welfare check

& there’s people who shame him

but they don’t really understand

never walked a mile in his shoes

If they had even for a moment,

If they had a clue what he goes through

Just to be able to do

the most basic things

They’d have a little empathy,

they would be

singing a different tune

A Love Story

For a while, their hearts seemed so out of sync,

Their relationship is headed for the end of the line”

you might think,

They were like two drums beating

to two different songs,

so much going wrong

but finally they talked it out, held on for dear life

Strengthening their bond as husband & wife

A story of a marriage on the rocks, @ 1st, but where communication & Love won out.

Angel In Chains

He weeps for his daughter,

she’s an angel in chains

trying hard to kill deep seated pain

with all the wrong things

from whiskey to cocaine

He hates seeing her that way,

Shattered, and living her life in vain

He somehow feels it’s himself to blame

He tried his best to raise her right

but somewhere she lost sight of the light

He wants to rescue her from endless night

but he knows to do it, she’s got to want to fight
