“Woke”

I’ve spoken out against the so called “woke” before

Explaining & clarifying my position

at this point has become a chore

There are two different common usages of the word

I’ve heard, especially lately

One is being aware and concerned w/genuine

troubling issues in society

as I’ve mentioned THAT’S fine by me

but another involves whining, lunacy,

and pushing and pandering to a victimhood mentality

and THAT’S the one I’ll keep challenging, unapologetically

Change

Time is fleeting,

but if your heart is still beating

You have a chance, an opportunity,

to make a difference in society

to be the change you want to see

Cancel Cult(ure)

Cancel culture is a tyrant’s dream

It allows anyone to be canceled from society

If they step out of line to any degree

& say anything with which anyone might disagree

You may think for now that it’s a good thing

but what about when the cancel cult comes for you & me?

Don’t let the cancel cult murder the land of the free

Patriotism

Dear America, patriotism doesn’t mean

Following parties or politicians blindly,

or that every citizen must always agree

Patriotism is Love of country,

wanting what’s best for it

& all the citizenry

Due Process

Due Process of law is important to me,

People should be considered innocent

until proven guilty

That’s the way it works in civilized society,

We don’t go executing people arbitrarily

Women

I’ve seen some women treat men with such bitter hostility

Like we’re inherently evil, and bring toxicity & disease

I’m thankful though, that the vast majority,

are reasonable people and not hateful harpies

When I look at how crazy some in society have gone

It feels like I’m in an episode of Rod Serling’s “Twilight Zone”

On The Gun Control Issue

I was listening to a man talk gun control today, he said he thought guns should all be thrown away

In response, I simply have a few things to say, I’m not now, nor will I ever be, ashamed to support their use in a responsible way

They serve a purpose, just like any tool,despite the fact that some abuse them like fools

If you want to outlaw guns because of how reckless & irresponsible some people are

I could use the same logic to argue that we should outlaw cars,

If I did though, we all know it wouldn’t get very far
