This is the story of an old man giving his heart & soul

To the family he raised, and the Love he vowed to have

& hold.

Facts be told, he’s never much lusted

for silver or gold

He’s made his living from jet black oil & coal,

& Southern cotton, white as pure driven snow

The greatest thing he’s ever come to know

Is to be content w/the life you make

& be careful of the seeds you sow

Father/Son Fun

My six year old son & I are playing around with rhymes

the ones we’re putting together are so simple sometimes

Mouse, house, cat, hat, stuff like that,

nothing fancy, but that’s alright,

I just love having fun together while I write

I know that his childhood will go by fast

In the blink of an eye, a flash,

but in the here & now, we’re having a blast
