Don’t idealize or idolize us,
People are flawed
Even the best of us, all.
Don’t put us up on pedestals
We are bound to fall

Imperfections are a reality
but despite the fact life’s not always
the picture of our ideal,
& there may be dark hours,
Our blessings are just as real

Some people look at the world
through glasses w/rose colored tint
until they experience

Some people hate to hear truth these days
but I’m still straightforward anyway
This may send some people reeling
but facts don’t care about feelings
I’ve heard that said quite a few times,
So it inspired this rhyme,
For the record, to clarify,
They neither care about yours or mine
Knowing that, you can curl up somewhere & cry
or get tough & go about your life just fine
