If United We Stand

The political elites seek to divide,

they’ve got their own agendas and plans

but I write this poem to my fellow citizen,

the common every day woman & man

To say, let’s come together,

for the sake of one another

all across our great land

We’re better off if United we stand

Brother Soldiers

When he turned 18,

In some ways he was still a boy,

but he was also a newly minted man

Answering Uncle Sam’s command,

He was shipped off to a foreign land

His uniform & boots were soon covered

in blood,sweat & sand

He felt it was a noble calling to serve his country

so he took that stand…

War changed him in a way some people will never

understand, but he’s glad his brother soldiers can

They were truly a band of heroes
