He’s had dark hours,
yeah more than a few
All it took was one point of light
to change his point of view

A poem about light conquering darkness.
He’s had dark hours,
yeah more than a few
All it took was one point of light
to change his point of view

A poem about light conquering darkness.
In all that we do we have opportunities
to touch lives, I know I won’t waste mine,
Let light forever shine,
I love people who use their talents for outreach,
to teach, or to help and share love to others in need

Love the sinner, hate the sin,
Evil should never be condoned
It should be called out,
brought to light, exposed
so that it cannot fester & grow

Some people may think Jay’s not a believer,
but some of his lyrics I’ve heard lately
tell me differently….
Now admittedly,
Just like everybody,
He’s had his share of failures
Times when he didn’t live quite right
but I believe that as long as people
still have a conscience & pulse
There is time for them to walk in the light
I have faith that
God can open anyone’s heart & eyes
I believe that when we get to heaven
Who all we see there may take us by surprise

This is written for one of my favorite lyricists, who has known darkness before, and who now seems to finally see the light.
Cheers Jason, & much Love brother.
The fruit of my life
has been a lot of things,
the bitter & the sweet
& hey, at least for today
I’ve still got a heartbeat
Whatever life may throw my way,
I can confidently say I’ll be alright
I can make it as long
as I’ve got a point of light

He threw away the razor blades
Threw away the booze
Decided he wanted to live
Even though his heart
was battered & bruised
If he let the darkness swallow him
He knew that wouldn’t be right
So he fought the darkness bravely,
til his soul could see the light

When you’re stumbling through life
& feel like you’re alone
& like you don’t know
which way to go
Just look for the Light
It’ll point the way home

If it were possible,
I’d love to have a tiny star
To use it as a lantern,
and keep it in a jar

He weeps for his daughter,
she’s an angel in chains
trying hard to kill deep seated pain
with all the wrong things
from whiskey to cocaine
He hates seeing her that way,
Shattered, and living her life in vain
He somehow feels it’s himself to blame
He tried his best to raise her right
but somewhere she lost sight of the light
He wants to rescue her from endless night
but he knows to do it, she’s got to want to fight
By:J.N.R Dutton
Sometimes it takes
walking through darkness
To appreciate the light
Losing a battle to get up
the will to fight
Knowing the brutality
of wrong to finally
stand up for what’s right
