Hillbilly Poet

He lives in Appalachia where life is hard

Some call him hillbilly poet, or simply a bard

because even while he’s slaving away

every day to put food on his family’s plates

He tells everybody stories,

and everybody says they’re first rate…

As the sweat of his brow

is pouring off his face,

He just takes the life he’s been given

with grace

What You Sow (Is What You Reap)

A life of drugging and thugging is a shame

If you treat this life like a foolish game

When you face the consequences

You’ve got no one else to blame

but yourself, the Bible speaks the truth,

I learned this in my youth

what you sow is what you reap

God made you lovingly,

so don’t treat your life like it’s cheap
