One heart says to another,
“I’ve still got mending left to do,
forgive me for sometimes taking
pain out on you,
Just keep Loving me,
and know I Love you too
Hold me in the battles
& we’ll make it through“

I heard a song today that shook me to my heart & soul
The singer was a man dealing w/loss
though I could sense his heart break
& it seemed like more than he could take
He still held tightly to his faith,
I’ve got to say, I could totally relate
It stuns, when a song hits you
in a deeply personal way
I’m glad he had the courage & strength
Even in the midst of his pain
To put the song’s words to the page
I sincerely think that through it
Lives will be changed

My darkest poetry reflects on dark situations & feelings in my life oftentimes, but should not be thought of as my current situation. I am actually in a really good place overall, just in case anyone cares to know.
I love to hear testimonies of hope, Love, restoration, and faith
& of how lives have been blessed, redeemed, and changed
God is still in the business of helping and healing the broken
& if you’re seeking salvation, Jesus is the way
His Love endures every day

A man wrote a letter to his younger self one day
He wrote that he remembered
how life had been such a roller coaster,
w/so many storms & so much pain
but that he was glad he didn’t give up,
because it wasn’t all in vain
It shaped who he was now & it taught him
to Love more, and appreciate each day

A young man had a broken heart he thought would never heal
He built a wall around it because the pain was just too real
He was so convinced he’d never Love again,
but he learned life had a funny way of surprising him
& he learned Love can be so beautiful, when you let the right one in

He’d shaken his fists @ heaven,
for all the hell he had been through
but the more he thought about it,
in his heart the more that he knew
that all along, that had been
the wrong thing to do
So he dropped to his knees
& he began to pray
A sincere prayer of repentance that day
His rage was replaced with peace & faith

Sifting through shards of broken hearts
Putting them back together piece by piece
In whatever way I can possibly
Even if along the way, those shards may cut me

He was a brilliant poet once,
he wore it like a crown
but ever since the accident
his mind wanders too much now
though he may write a line or two
that’s all that he can get through
His Dr’s tell him he’ll never be the same
but he’s still hoping for healing
like a desert hopes for rain

I’m so glad my life’s not
just been shaped
by the stuff that haunts me,
though that stuff certainly
sticks vividly in my memory,
I’m glad that I can still find the good
and see that overall,
this life’s a blessing
It truly helps me keep my sanity
