Eddie Gene came from New Orleans
He loved Jambalaya stew,
sweet jazz & the Blues,
fedoras & alligator shoes
He was a mix of Cajun and Creole
Loved the gulf coast down to his soul

They were both born & raised down on the Gulf coast
They’ve still got some good friends there,
there are a few they miss the most,
They’ve been living up north now, for six years in a row
They both agree it’s been too long
since they made it back down home
but they’ll be going back @ Christmas time
If it doesn’t snow

She’s a Cajun queen,
and she’s proud to say it,
She loves her way of life,
there’s no way she’d ever change it
She’d tell you it’s deep in her veins,
in a way…
Only thing she fears are hurricanes
but she loves the feel of the Gulf Coast rains
