The tongue is strong enough to break a heart, or help one to mend
There is a precious beauty in a great hug from a friend
Though this world is fallen, broken,
On God’s Love we can depend

I’ve got a dear sweet friend heavy on my mind,
though she’s left this world behind,
she’s still a profound part of mine,
in my memory she’ll forever shine.
(A tribute to one of the best friends I ever had)

Jordan hit Seattle on a Saturday,
even though he lived a few hours away
he needed the break
from the week he’d had anyway
he met up with friends,
& they let him stay and rest up
w/them for a while…
The good times he had with them
brought fresh light to his smile
He said:
“Let’s do this again soon, okay?
when I’m headed back again this way,
& don’t worry about the coffee, I’ll pay,
you all really made my day”

A few good friends, gathered in the yard
Some playing with a brand spanking new deck of cards, the ones that are left, they’re picking guitars, pretending that they are Grand Ole Opry stars
If they really tried, their talent would take them far, but they’re free and content playing for the thrill of it, right where they are

A man with long sandy hair from Jacksonville
Some people trash talked him, said “you never will
amount to anything man,”
but he ended up fronting a band
Singing his heart out w/his mic in his hand
burning life’s candle at both ends
playing and chilling with all his rowdy friends

Every weekend, they drive up the coast
It doesn’t matter the weather,
They visit good friends, they laugh and they toast
All the great memories they’re making together

Life’s not a piece of cake
We all have our tough breaks
Sometimes there are days
We just gotta get away
From all the things
stressing us out,
getting in our way
That’s Okay
It’s healthy to escape
for sanity’s sake
maybe gather with friends camping
or fishing on a river or lake

Waves coming in on a beach,
w/the moon overhead
People have been up for hours,
saying they’ll sleep when they’re dead
It’s a grand get together of new & old friends alike
Enjoying each other, every moment they’ve got
Glad just for being alive

A poem about fellowship, life, and happiness
When you’re flat broke, living in your car,
when what’s left in the tank won’t get you far
you hold on to hope like a shining star
& it’s times like these, when you find out
Who your true friends are
They’re the neighbors who will help you out
Who know what Love is all about

Under the burnt orange glow of a setting sun
Two people out, care free, having fun
With energy fresh, like their lives have just begun
Loving every moment they get to spend
with each other, they are best friends
