I’ve got such sweet peace inside now,
some of the best I’ve ever had
it really makes me glad
hope I can bring inspiration,
instead of being a drag

Dear fellow poets, tell me, have you
ever reflected on your old writings in review
and remembered well
what you thought & felt
back when they were fresh & new?

Successfully got my ISP switched over, glad to be back you all!
I hope life’s been treating you all well
I’d love to gather w/my readers
& sit for a spell, just chilling out
Listening to any stories you may
have to tell
As for me, I got a new book of poetry
for my anniversary, it’s a pretty neat read
You’d know the poet if I wrote his name
His work’s been around for ages
It can be pretty inspiring
Watching a fellow poet bleed their feelings out
onto reams & reams of pages

His mind’s a little sideways
his heart’s a little blue
he’d lay his feelings out in song
but his guitar’s out of tune
& his singing voice sounds like
wolves baying at the moon
Oww ooh ooh

The opening lyrics to a new song, I am thinking genre-wise of the blues.
Is it better when you’re down,
to fake positivity?
Not to me, I rather people live
honestly & authentically
Faking that you’re fine if you’re not
is unhealthy, and does no good for anybody
& frankly, it’s okay
To not always
BE okay
Everyone has down days

He has moments of madness
he never lets the world see
they’re usually triggered
by moments of pain & grief
but he also has moments of joy
that bring him sweet peace & relief

Amy felt like she was dancing
On a razor’s edge,
or on some high wire without a net
Felt like she’d lost a really bad bet
and that one misstep was all she’d get
Before she plummeted

Some people hate to hear truth these days
but I’m still straightforward anyway
This may send some people reeling
but facts don’t care about feelings
I’ve heard that said quite a few times,
So it inspired this rhyme,
For the record, to clarify,
They neither care about yours or mine
Knowing that, you can curl up somewhere & cry
or get tough & go about your life just fine

There were times he thought about
lighting up the world to watch it burn
Times he felt spurned,
but eventually he learned
that there are better ways to deal,
and there are people who love him
with a love that’s real
and won’t cast stones for how he feels

Writing poetry is something
That often comes easy to me
Whether just telling a story
or pouring out my deeply held feelings
Even if sometimes those feelings
can be heavy, dark & frightening
When I write, I often feel my burdens
lightening
You see, it’s a form of therapy
and whatever I’m facing
I know there are people
who can relate to me
