Early on in life his future was looking bright
He was a hometown star on Friday nights
His daddy said: “boy, go ahead you make me proud”
One night an injury took him down,
the boy said:
“daddy don’t you worry now, it’s not the end for me,
I’ll be back out there on the field soon, you’ll see,
I’ll continue to be all the things that we ever dreamed,
all I need is for you to not give up on me“

A lot of people want everything easy & free
but something that I’ve worked hard for
is so much sweeter to me
I might get frustrated along the way
but everything is still worthwhile
at the end of the day

People in their town always claimed
he came from the wrong side of the tracks,
and that they would surely never last
but she just knew she Loved him & he Loved her back
and they both had faith they could build a life on that
Despite those that thought their Love would go wrong
