Jimmy was a one of a kind talent, anyone could see,
Genius w/lyrics & poetry,
but his life was a cautionary tale for the masses
He had what many think of as “success”
but in the end he was burned by his own excesses

These days he lives simply, working on cars
He wears tattoos to cover scars
He got as a soldier in the Persian Gulf War
He’s pleased that he served his country well
but will be the first to tell you war is hell

Jenny’s daddy was a junkie for the Bombay gin
He’d drink it every night until his head would spin
She grew up watching him,
said “I’m never gonna be like that
when I have my own kids,
Daddy how can you make me see you like this?”
When she was 18 she made a decision
she left him behind, never saw him again,
it was hard to do, but it was for the best
since her daddy had made his life a mess
