When G.C. C. wrote his songs
they were always hits
He just had a knack for it
A beautiful & razor sharp poetic wit
He & music were a perfect fit
Like a hand in custom gloves
For him it was an absolute labor of love

Sharon was a Texas beauty queen
With dreams of acting on stage & screen
She proved she could do it,
that she had the grit that was needed
& a fiery spirit that couldn’t be defeated
She brought her unique spark(le) to every role
Embraced them w/all her heart & soul

Oh Rosie, thank you for the poetry
You’re as brilliant as your daddy
Anyone can see, & that’s saying something
Something indeed, because he was legendary
Is it something in your DNA, was your genius taught
or were you born that way?

Hank Garland had golden fingers
when he picked the guitar strings,
he could really make them sing
& he had a knack for everything,
I was on YouTube earlier, listening to him play
his talents will surely take your breath away

There is a guy I know of who’s supremely brilliant when he speaks
crushing all things P.C. w/heavy doses of rationality,
He’ll always get huge respect from me
Yet there are people who accuse him of hate speech,
seriously, simply because he won’t pander to insanity
but if you ask me,more guys like him is what this world
desperately needs, as far as I have seen, he owes no one an apology

Some days his voice was gritty
as sandpaper, other days,
velvety smooth
but what he was always
known for
was being the biggest talent
in any room
The men all wanted to be like him,
& the women all would swoon
He really knew how to delight them
they melted when they’d hear him croon

There is a poetess that I know,
she’s not yet one of great reknown
but every time I read her work,
I find it quite profound
Sometimes her words are simple,
sometimes quite complex
Every time I find one poem ending
I look forward to the next
