Jimmie Lee & his family

worked a farm in the West Texas heat

Growing potatoes, tomatoes, pinto beans

stretching for acres as far as the eye could see

they worked each day til the sun went down

the best rest they got was when they’d gather round

each taking a seat at the family table to eat

it was nice getting off their feet
