She cries her tears in secret each night

thinking back on another time

when she was one of

the greatest joys of his life

she’s at a loss now, so confused

these days their lives seem so out of tune

with each other….and she’s gotten

to thinking, about what she’d do,

what she’d give

to light up his world like that again

like she did back then
